The Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy is delighted to announce that government-subsidised training, (Skills First, formerly the Victorian training guarantee), is now available for our Certificate, Diploma & Advanced Diploma courses (eligibility criteria apply).
Please find below a quick step by step guide which outlines the eligibility criteria. If you meet the criteria you’re eligible for funding!

As a reminder, the following courses offered by the Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy are eligible for funding:
- Certificate IV in Massage (HLT42015)
- Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015)
- Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy (22316VIC)
To be, an individual must meet Victorian Training Guarantee requirements as follows:
a/ An individual must be:
- Australian citizen
- Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
- Holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444, New Zealand citizen)
- Asylum seekers or Temporary Protection Visa Holder (relevant referral from required)
- Automotive Supply Chain Initiative or Retrenched employees (relevant referral form required)
b/ An individual must enrol and commence training in a course or qualification provided by the RTO between the later of 1 January 2017 or when the VET Funding contract is executed, and 31 December 2017 inclusive and be:
i) Under 20 years old (as at 1 January in the year of commencement of training) and seeking to enrol in nationally recognised training or;
ii) Over 20 years old (as at 1 January in the year of commencement of training) and seeking to enrol in nationally recognised training; or
2017 VET Funding Contract- Schedule 1 Victorian Training Guarantee Program Specifications
iii) Over 20 years of age (as at 1 January in the year of commencement of training) and seeking to enrol in nationally recognised training in a course that is at a higher qualification held at the time of the scheduled commencement of training.
iv) An individual is eligible to commence a maxiumum of two government subsidised courses in a calendar year. Where an individual is enrolled in a course(s) that is scheduled to commence at a later date in that calendar year, this course(s) must be counted for the purpose of this clause when assessing eligibility.
v) An individual is eligible to undertake a maxiumum of two government subsidised courses at any one time.
