Remedial massage is designed to assess and treat myofascial pain, injuries, and dysfunction affecting movement and mobility.

Remedial massage can treat a wide range of conditions, including:

There are a number of payment options available and various forms of government funding to assist with your course including VET Student Loans. VET Student Loans is an Australian Government Loan scheme that is available to assist eligible students studying higher level vocational education and training (VET) qualifications to pay their tuition fees. VET Student Loans is available for the Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015) only.

Skills First funding is also available subject to meeting the eligibility criteria and is available for the Certificate IV in Massage (HLT42015), Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015) & Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy (22316VIC).

If you’re not eligible for government funding then you could also consider Study Loans who are a private student loan company that provides the funds for approved MIMT courses direct to us on behalf of you. As you may be aware selected health funds have reassessed their provider eligibility criteria, for health fund registration for individual Remedial Massage practitioners.

As a result of the health fund reviews and reassessments a set minimum education requirement is the outcome. MIMT is one of a handful of colleges that has signed an assurance confirming that our Diploma of Remedial Massage course meets the required Medibank Private standards.

This means that you can apply for a provider number and it’s imperative you have this assurance when choosing a educational institution to undertake this course.

Yes – our courses are created in a stepping stone fashion. First you would complete the Diploma of Remedial Massage and then move on to the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy. After completing the Diploma you can continue your study in to the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy.

The Certificate IV in Massage is the initial qualification you require to become a professional massage therapist and you can either upskill to the Diploma of Remedial Massage or enter directly into the Remedial course if this is your desired outcome. This allows you to join massage associations and obtain professional insurance. You can work from home, in a clinic, mobile massage or even in the corporate massage sector.  You can then continue studying and complete your Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy.

The prerequisite for the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy is the Diploma of Remedial Massage.
